One big reason Why England aren't good enough!

To support and promote any national soccer team, one major must is elite players coming through the system. The English leagues are simply not getting it right or for that matter the systems in place are killing their national team.

Too many players employed by premier league clubs are foreign based (born outside the UK) and too many EPL clubs are either benching English players or are favouring foreign players as starters. This must end with new systems put in place or the English national team will continue to hit new lows with more early exits from major competition on the horizon.

The English FA must stand up to this task with simple planning to benefit the English game: A new ruling would see 5 English players starting the game at every EPL club, ensuring English talent plays at the highest level possible.

Premier League clubs have complete freedom to sign players at will. There is no salary cap, no limit to squad size, no age restrictions, no restrictions on the overall number of foreign players and few restrictions on individual foreign players - all players with EU nationality, including those able to claim an EU passport through a parent or grandparent, are eligible to play in the EPL, and top players from outside the EU are able to obtain UK work permits.

All of which is destroying the talent pool in England.

EPL coaches & clubs are 100% responsible for the demise of the English national team. They must be held to account with change forced on them by the FA, it's that simple!

When the English Premier League kicked-off in 1992-93, just eleven players named in the starting line-ups for the first round of matches were foreigners. By 2000-01, the number of foreign players in the Premier League had risen to 36%. In the 2004-05 season the figure had increased to 45%.

On 26 December 1999, Chelsea became the first Premier League side to field a complete foreign starting eleven.

On 14 February 2005 Arsenal were the first EPL club to name a complete foreign 16-man squad for an EPL game.

If the FA is to get their national team back on track they must adopt a policy for home based players.
Without the FA's assistance on this ever threatening situation the English national team will continue to fail!

Play your home based players England or watch it all pass you by like.............Africa 2010……Germany 2006……etc etc etc.

People wonder why England have only 1 world cup title…..this topic goes a long way in today's game to highlight where they are going soooo wrong.

To the FA I say, it's either money or your national team's future, choose wisely before it's too late!

Aston Villa defender Luke Young is on the verge of joining Liverpool, according to the player's agent. Young's representative, Andy Evans, said the two clubs had agreed a fee and were discussing personal terms for the 31-year-old former England right-back.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will turn his attentions to German international central defender Per Mertesacker after being beaten to Sol Campbell's signature by Newcastle. The Gunners are confident a £10m offer can persuade Werder Bremen to part with the 25-year-old.

Newcastle United have completed the signing of defender Sol Campbell on a one-year contract. The former England international had been a free agent after his deal with Arsenal ran out this summer. "At this stage of my career I couldn't have wished for a better move," the 35-year-old told the Newcastle website. "To join a club such as Newcastle, with its proud tradition, heritage and magnificent support, is absolutely tremendous for me."

? Free agent goalkeeper David James is to meet Celtic this weekend to discuss a move to the Scottish giants, with Fulham also interested in the England player.
